KPKP Agency Continues to Ensure Food Safety in Jakarta

The Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Agency operates three mobile food testing laboratory cars in order to keep ensuring food safety in Jakarta. This laboratory car is equipped with officers who can conduct sample tests at the surveillance site.
This is in accordance with the policies and programs for Improving Community Food Security
"We'll also intensively do coaching related to quality standards and the quality of fresh agricultural, fishery and animal products to business people," expressed Jakarta KPKP Agency Head, Darjamuni, Wednesday (1/15).

He explained, this year, the city targets fresh food produced from agriculture, fisheries and animal products circulating in Jakarta is safe for consumption.
"This is in accordance with the policies and programs for Improving Community Food Security as stated in the capital's medium-term development plan (RPJMD)," he explained.
In details, the last year's performance results from 49,520 test samples taken through various locations of market, supermarket, production center spread over five cities and districts of Thousand Islands as much as 99.74 percent of food declared safe from hazardous chemicals.
"This achievement will be increased this year. Thus people increasingly feel confident and safe in consuming various food products," he stressed.
So, with laboratory car, he hoped that supervision could be done more intensively every day.
"If there are violations, we will give sanctions in accordance with the SOP," he stated.
